LouD Studios is Louisiana's first digital media company encompassing the full range of studio services: animation, live action, visual effects and digital recording. Founded by author/illustrator/director, William Joyce, along with film producers, Alissa Kantow and Lampton Enochs and music producer, Brady Blade, LouD Studios has assembled a team of industry experts to serve the growing needs of the motion picture and sound recording industries. LouD Studios is located at the Inter Tech Science Park in Shreveport, Louisiana and is currently in production on an animated short film, "The Fantastic Flying Books of Morris Lessmore," directed by Brandon Oldenburg and William Joyce.

William Joyce

William Joyce began his career in children's books during the second grade. His first book, "Billy's Booger" got him sent to the principal's office. Since then he has written and illustrated a number of bestselling titles that he has shepherded into animated films and television shows. "Rolie Polie Olie" has won three Emmys. "George Shrinks" is popular on PBS. He began his animation career as a story/character artist for "Toy Story" and "A Bug's Life" and has since gone on to produce and design "ROBOTS" at 20th Century Fox and was an executive producer on Disney's "Meet the Robinsons" which was based on his book "A Day with Wilbur Robinson". Joyce is currently in production with DreamWorks Animation on "The Guardians" slated for a 2010 holiday release. The feature film is based on his upcoming series of books which explore the origins of Santa Claus, The Man in the Moon, and all the other mythic icons of childhood.

Animation & Visual Effects Program at LSU Shreveport

The Animation and Visual Effects Program (AVEP) at LSU Shreveport has been founded to educate candidates for entry into the growing digital media and entertainment fields. This area of computer graphics uses high-end software and techniques that can be a challenge to learn. The program features highly experienced expert instructors, with strong industry ties. The program works closely with animation and visual effects companies, including the studio of William Joyce locally. Industry internships, student worker positions and graduate assistantships also are offered.
